BLIND FURY CANE-DO has many upcoming events for our students and school families. Refer to this page to find out about upcoming seminars, telephone seminars, school functions and other school related information.

We will also be posting News Bulletins or pertinent information regarding the school, it's students, it's instructors, or the Chief Instructor. The Calendar will also list these items as well. Make sure you print out the school calendar each month for easy reference.

DARS Immersion Training-Blind Fury Seminar  11/6/08  (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Special Guest Speaker and Martial Arts Exhibition for the Vision Impaired attending their Immersion Training for the whole week. The Immersion Training is from the States Division for Blind Services that helps individuals into rehabilitation. The Blind Fury program may become part of the curriculum to help rehabilitate the vision impaired. A great honor to be a guest speaker! Location On TCU Campus: University Christian Church 2720 S. Brain Tumor Foundation Walk  11/7/09  (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
Blind Fury Cane-Do has a team walking for the cause and collecting donations. Team name is Blind Fury Cane-Do. Supporting the cause for improved treatment, awareness and prevention of Brain Tumors. Chief Instructor Corrales is a survivor.As a survivor, Instructor Corrales has created a website for Donations and for friends and family to Join the Team in the Walk.

Our meetings are Free, Informative, Interactive and Attended by People who want to take Control of their lives!

New Phase of Cane Training Begins March 6, 2010. Two Classes: 12-18 years old and 18-101 age group. Location may be at Instructors home or at another desiganted location (the Church On Rush Creek-Arlington). Contact me for One-On-One Trainings!! We are trying to get help from the city for a permanent location with plenty of space. Register for this training...It is FREE!!! Email me your name, phone and what city you live in. I will even try to get you transportation if you contact me in enough time!

New Blind Fury Cane-Do book, coming soon!  4/7/10
New detailed book being written by Instructor Corrales (in large print of course) that will give detail to the training and phases of training. There will be areas in the book that cover: variations of Cane self defense, safety, exercise, breathing exercises, positive imagery, meditative calm and focus, smiling in life and the CAN DO attitude.

Ride for Hope is an escorted motorcycle ride from the Sons of Thunder motorcycle ministry in honor of one of it's own, Chief Instructor Corrales. In honor of Larry Corrales' fighting spirit to survive and overcome through Christ and for his inspiration to others. See detail link and register.

National Brain Tumor Foundation Walkathon  11/6/10  (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
National Brain Tumor Foundation Walkathon to raise money and awareness for the cure of brain tumors. Chief Instructor Corrales survived a dangerous brain tumor but it took 98% of his eye sight. He continues to teach and inspire others.

Fort Worth ISD Picnic for children who are Vision Impaired  4/28/12  (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM)
Blind Fury Cane Do spent time with young children that were vision impaired. Sat them on our motorcycle and let them take in the sounds and feel of the bike. Spoke to the children about the uses of their canes, including not using it to hurt people unless their life was in danger. Spoke to the parents briefly about one on one training that was free. Such a wonderful group of kids. Helping them move beyond their limits!

THE WORLD HEAD OF FAMILY SOKESHIP COUNCIL- INTERNATIONAL MARTIAL ARTS HALL OF FAME AND AWARDED THE PIONEER AWARD Sensei Larry Corrales has been nominated to receive the Pioneer Award from the elite and prestigious Grand Masters Council in the World. Sensei Corrales will be inducted into the International Martial Arts Hall Of Fame.

Small Group Training's start June 2012  6/9/12  (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Small Group Training starts June 2nd 2012 (Up to six students) One month training and is every Saturday depending on the classes personal schedule (some weekly training may be on Thursday evening). Or you can also arrange one on one training. Advanced training may go for three months at different times than the one month training. For some of you the one month training may be enough to sharpen your skills but at home practice is necessary to build up these skills. After one month training small private classes can be formed to help you keep up or evaluate your where you are with your at home practice.

Our Sponsored Motorcycle group, Spyder Ryders of North Texas was the VIP Escorts for the children who have survived brain tumors. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation set up this event every year and more than glad to support for the cause. Sensei Corrales is also a brain tumor survivor and how he became blind. Donations raised were $1280.00. Hoping to triple the awareness for cause next year. Helping to find a cure!

White Cane Day

White Cane Day Walk scheduled Monday  10/15/12  (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
Representatives from the Tarrant County blind community will come together Oct. 15 in downtown Fort Worth for the annual Tarrant County White Cane Day Walk. Mayor Pro Tem W.B. “Zim” Zimmerman will participate in the walk this year.

With an estimated 37,000 residents in Tarrant County who are significantly visually impaired, the purpose of the walk is to raise awareness and recognition of the white cane as a symbol of independence for people who are blind.

“The walk is an empowering experience wherein the blind community can come together to celebrate independence and raise awareness to the public,” said Janice Moran of the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services/Division of Blind Services. “It is a fun event for all people, all ages, visually impaired or not.”

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church parking lot, 800 W. Fifth St. The public is invited to join the walk. (9:00 am meet for flash mob training)

Aliance with American Cane Masters To Develop a Hooked Cane for The Vision Impaired  1/1/13
Alliance with American Cane Masters and my Grand Master Mark Shuey, To Develop a Hooked Cane for The Vision Impaired that are trained by Blind Fury Cane-Do. Another choice of canes that are functional as a mobility cane and self defense cane. We are developing a special white cane that has the lite weight feel, performance, strength, function for the street as well as a fine restaurant or Ballet while incorporating the power of the hook of the cane.
